Women’s Club having a great year

Our bowlers from the Women’s Club have been very busy lately doing our Club proud. In the Champion of Club Championships played at Asquith Bowling Club from 2-5 July, Jeanette Swan got through to the third round having defeated Ngoc Hau from Killara (25/21) and Melissa Mende from Tumut (25/19), but was beaten by Emma Pettit from Merimbula Imlay (13/25).

In the State singles Jeanette defeated Ros Lightfoot of Denistone (25/14) then Maelene Reynolds from Northmead (25/21) to win Region 16. This match at Greenlees Park was extremely difficult as the green was very fast and a strong wind was blowing across the green. This win means she will be going to Tamworth on 6-7 September to play in the State Singles.

As well as her personal triumphs, Jeanette played in the team representing our club which was runner up in the District Seniors Fours (with Judy Thorp, Bernadette Trompp and Vivienne Riley). She also played with Vivienne Riley in the District Senior Pairs team where they were again the Runners up.
