Club’s 2002 donation still fighting bushfires

In 2002 the North Epping Bowling Club presented a cheque to a local group of volunteer firefighters to buy one of the red fire trailers you may see in strategic locations around our suburb. These trailers are still in use today and ready to help fight any bushfires that might erupt during the current catastrophic fire emergency. (One of these trailers is sited at the bottom end of Boundary road next to the bowling club.) Peter Wagner, shown on the right in the 2002 photo, is still an active defender of our community and has just updated the warning sign on the trailer to reflect the danger level. Also in the photo from 2002 is the Club President Pat Corby, on the left in the photo, who presented the cheque to local volunteer firefighters.

Still defending residents today. One of the original units.
